Your work quilted

We mount pieces unlimited in length and a width of 30cm to maximum 3,80m. For the finest results it is necesary that your top is nicely prepared and that the back is straight and larger than your top.

The preparation

During preparation we like you to pay attention to the following points:

Trim the threads at the back of your top and iron the ditches. If you want us to stich in the ditch it is important to iron all the fringes at the ditches to the same side.

Check whether the borders and corners are straight. This is done by measuring the borders and checking the diagonal length of the top. Only a small deviation is allowed for a good quilt without folds. If needed you might want to adjust your top to straighten all the measures.

If your quilt is finished with a bias or border, the interlayer and back must be larger than the top by a minimum of 10cm in each direction. Else minimally 20cm is required in each direction to be able to fold over.

All applications larger than 4 cm² have to be cut out of the back.

For large pieces the interlayer and back have to prepared to cope with the tensions of the machine.

Mark the above and under side of the top with a label.

When oblique thread direction assides the sides, stich at ¼" to stabilise the top.

What we need

After the necessary preparations, you can deliver us the top and back separated. For best results in look and comfort of the finished quilt it is important to use high quality filling. You do not need to worry about this because we advise you in the choice of filling and deliver it to you. For the back of your quilt we advise you to choose a nice fabric in your quiltshop. They can deliver you the best quality quilting cotton. If you wish, however, we can deliver you the needed. If desired we can also finish your quilt with a closing bias if you foresee a large enough and uncutted piece of fabric.

The price?

Starting from 31 €/m² (all-in prices/no thread surcharge) we can transform your top into a marvelous quilt. The price of your quilt is calculated by hand of the dimensions of the top before quilting. This is independent of the surface to be quilted. Also the way of quilting plays an important role in the price calculation. Feel free to ask more information.
